Just notice at the assessors site that the 2010-11 assessments are in. Mine went down 45%. Wow!

Don't check yours unless you want to be depressed by how much the value went down. On the flip side no worries if you don't plan to sell soon.

Thanks, I had read somewhere about how to appeal the value they came up with but just checked and it was 1200 dollars higher than we paid and don't have to worry. Awesome.

Does anybody have a link so I can see what my property assessed at? I actually want mine to show 1/3 of last years value.

Thanks for the link flyingtigers.
My home is now worth less than I owe. For 2010-11. That just make me feel less warm and cozy inside. But I have to live somewhere, and at least the monthly mortgage payments are still low enough.

Forgive me if this has been addressed elsewhere but do the new assessments mean my taxes will go do by that amount?

Just out o curiousity, how closely do assessments track market value in Vegas? I know for example, the market value of my former house in Bethesda, MD was always higher than the taxable value assigned to it by the county. The county just used quick-and-dirty measurements to give the overall neighborhoods an up-or-down change every three years.

Are the assessments in Vegas really true indicators of the market value of a property at any given time?
