I don't want to disrespect people here and I have read this site for months but try don't post much if at all.

However, take racism and freedom of speech and everything else out of this and there is one simple way to rid the strip of this. We don't need a law that violates the constitution, we need a legal way to counter them without that.

Maybe someone else has had this idea before but we need volunteers with recycling containers on wheels to station themselves near these people on each end of the group of them. Have signs in multiple languages that ask tourists to take these cards from the people and deposit them directly in the recycling bin. Have a recording or just have the person with the recycling bin speak to the tourists as they pass and ask them to help keep Vegas clean.

If 99 percent of these cards were taken directly from the giver and put directly in the trash I would expect that the scumbags who pay them to do so would find that it isn't economically viable to continue to do so.

And to any of you who said they are probably illegals you are racists Nazi jerks. Our country obviously granted these people work visas to fill such important jobs as these.

That's the best idea I've heard in a long time. Wish I'd thought of it. Maybe you should take that to the County Commission, the Resort Assoc., or whoever might do it. I think it might work as long as it could be sustained.

I also agree with you about calling people "illegals". It is purely prejudice against Mexicans. And I don't care how much anyone denies it and claims to just be against anyone illegally entering the country. They think everyone with brown skin and speaks Spanish is a Mexican and they call them all illegals. Their screaming denials just fall on my deaf ears.

I generally have ideas but don't follow through, so if you want you can let em know my idea if you want. Won't bother me.

Most of the card slappers I remember looked more Guatamalen to me. I am sure that most of them are illegals, why wouldn't they be? If they were all fat white guys, the people who are bothered by them would likely say stuff like "I wish those lardo perverts weren't handing out porn on the streets"

That is just human nature.

The recycling thing would work, although there might be some fights or something if we did this. Might be bad for business, don't know. I am not bothered by it enough to worry about it. Last time I just took some porn from the first one that handed it out and then pretended I wanted it from the next midget that handed it to me and instead I shoved it in his stack.

Little dude was PISSED. I am about six four and over 300 so he and the rest of the four footer club just went back to handing out porn.

Odd. I never really give it much thought. My wife and I have been in LV approximately a dozen times and usually find ourselves walking past these guys (and girls!) at some point in every trip. We usually make it past them with nothing in our hands. If a card does happen to find its way into our hands, we stick it in our pocket and throw it out at the nearest garbage receptical. At some point in our trip, I ususally imitate the snapping routine when least expected...gets a laugh everytime.

I think someone should call Opportunity Village with this idea! It is brilliant! If you didn't know OV runs a recycling center. They have huge LOCKED cans for confidential information. They could chain them to the poles (with city approval) and empty them once a week, shredding all contents right in front of the 'slappers.'

Hey, didn't you know, any Hispanic is automatically Mexican and all of them are illegal. There is an Arab community here also and many Hispanic mistake them for Hispanics! It is funny to hear a Hispanic start speaking Spanish to an Arab. LOL I love the facial expressions when both realize they don't know what the other is saying and then they have to communicate in English!

Call them, I hate phones. I wouldn't chain them to poles, I would have them be on wheels so they could move if the slappers moved. Whatever works. I honestly suspect that there is probably something evil going on behind the scenes, illegal sex slaves and whatnot. Who knows? Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to run them out of business.

Haaaaaa. Reminds me of an embarrassing moment. A guy I worked with spoke half a dozen languages, but he is Mexican/American and was one of our Spanish interpreters. I saw him talking to an attractive dark skinned woman one time and I said something in Spanish. He turned to me and said this isn't Spanish, we're speaking Persian.

Oops! My bad.

I am not bitter. I am angry that these obnoxious individuals have the right to accost me and invade my personal space. As for the rest your comment, utter BS. Amazing how people feel so free to make assumptions.

I think we should start a thread, "Vegas Assumptions here!" These folks rarely need exercise because they spend a lot of their time jumping to conclusions.
