Those mobile bill boards are also a distraction, but I guess its not as extreme.
I was just sharing what I watched on the news. Yes, on page 51 of the NV driver's handbook (you know I had to find it ) says that folks over 18 can legally ride in the back of a truck without being seat belted.

It was a pretty cool marketing idea and parking it wouldn't have reached as many tourists as driving up and down the strip. And, let's face it, a free show with those 5min waits at the lights! I swear, Vegas has some of the longest lights in the nation. I bet I burn a 1 gal of gas for every 10 lights (exaggeration)!

I read some cities are banning the mobile billboards too. They cost a lot of money, add a ton of pollution to the environment, and are also a distraction. I would be interested on the ROI with that type of marketing.

I know someone who drives one of the mobile billboard mobiles and they are basically a commerical light duty truck on a 6 cyl turbo diesel. It actually does well on fuel considering its weight, but diesel engines are better than gasoline when it comes to fuel efficiency as long as you keep the RPM's lower. Some of the best MPG cars in the world are turbo diesels, such as the VW Polo or even the domestic Jetta TDI can get 40-50 on the highway. I'm sure someone will come out with an electric version of those mobile billboards so they can say they are "Green" Still have to charge the batteries with electricity and a lot of generation plants still use Coal (like the one outside Vegas). Then when you get rid of the batteries, they are basically a toxic waste hazard.

I don't know about limos, but passengers in cabs are required to wear seat belts. The sign is posted in all cabs, and I always made my passengers wear them. They always thanked me for my concern.

And if you met the nice lady that owns the trucks you'd never believe she was in that business. But I don't know if she intended to sell boards to strip clubs, or if she couldn't get regular businesses interested in mobile ads, or maybe strip clubs are willing to pay more. She and her husband own a well known ad agency, and they are a nice Jewish family. She used to have a show on Ch 13.

Any number of straight women or Gay men who see one of these on the Strip, probably wonder: Will the next Stripmobile coming by have some hot-looking men in it? And they wait and wait and wait......and wait.

The Lesbians strolling the Strip should have no complaints whatsoever.

If this were the Sin City across the Pacific, you'd see both options prominently displayed, winding through the streets of Pat Pong in Bangkok.

Las Vegas will never reach that level of maturity. Or hot-looking men serving coctails in the casino's.

Las Vegas, generally speaking, has a conservative one-track mind.

Well, no, I haven't seen men serving coctails yet, but there are at least 2 properties marketing to the GLBT community. One is Paris Hotel and the other is Encore. So, in some areas of Paris or Encore, if you are gay and partake, you might just see that. I, personally, do not know.

Let's ignore the Gay element for a moment.

There's not a single straight woman traveler to Las Vegas that wouldn't wish to have a hot-looking, skimply-clad male serve her a drink while playing the slots in a casino?

Or walk the Strip some night and see a Stripmobile with men inside, rather than women?

Well, okay, I wouldn't mind that, but I seldom play slots and I prefer to 'gaze' in softer lighting. Chippendales have male servers and the show isn't all that bad. Not so sure the strip mobile would be my thing though. Might be for some young, single, all out there kind of girl.
