I am relocating to Henderson and have found homes in the following zip codes (89011,89002,89015,89012). Can anyone tell me if these are nice areas or if I should be shifting my focus elsewhere? Basically I am looking for a clean, safe area to buy a home that is pet friendly with little congestion. Mountain views would be a plus but not a deal breaker.

I used to live in 89015. It was not a nice area.

I may have just eliminated one. What community did you live in and what didn't you like about it?

I was in old town Henderson, right off of Lake Mead Parkway and Boulder Highway. The houses were very old, as in 40 years+. I was ok with it myself, but it was most likely the worst neighborhood in Henderson.

How far off is Henderson from Vegas? Is Henderson a Suburb of Vegas?
My mom said she was interested in Henderson and I heard it's not so great over there, and recommended the Summerlin/The Lakes area.

Henderson is a suburb of Vegas. Vegas and Henderson connect with each other, so it is not far away at all. Henderson is actually very nice, other than were I lived. Anthem, Green Valley, and Seven Hills are all areas of Henderson that are comparable to Las Vegas. I posted a link below that will tell you everything about Henderson...

One thing, I HAVE to quit posting when I am drunk LOL! I meant Seven Hills, Anthem, and Green Valley are comparable to Summerlin/ Lakes Area. Henderson really is a beautiful city that even has certain advantages over Vegas, believe it or not.

The OPs orginal question is not answerable. Virtually all these zip codes may have bad areas. ie 89011 has both the Boulder Highway area and the Lake Las Vegas area. One is pretty old and relatively low economically the other is shiny new and wealthy.

89012 is nice overall. 89052 is the same or better.

Henderson and Summerlin/Lakes overlap over a vast range. Basically similar tracts...one to the Southeast the other to the west. Summerlin per se is a Master Planned Community that has no equivalent in Henderson. Many Henderson areas however are similar to the tracts or villages of Summerlin.
