I have been closely studying and experiencing the Vegas (and U.S.) recession over the last few years and that is the most accurate summation of our economic reality that I have ever read.

It's true...people were willing to throw money around when it could easily be replaced by so many lending vehicles. That all dried up. Very few are spending today with tomorrow's money...because they feel that the money might just not be there tomorrow. Having home equity and stocks made people think they were richer than they actually were.
