Does anyone remember the name of the hotel/casino that was torn down to make room for the New York, New York?

Man, I'm remembering it was always an empty lot...Kerkorian owned it and sold it to MGM, and the old Boardwalk was next to it...

Yeah, it was an empty lot for some time, but there was a casino there at one time -- i believe even as recently as when the Excalibur first opened. I just can't recall the name.

I don't remember it as a casino but rather a gas station and a motel sat on that property.

Wasn't part of the Dunes golf course behind that property?

The New York New York was built shortly after I moved here, but I can't for the life of me remember what sat on that lot.

I googled las vegas strip history and came across this neat site.

New York New York
