Thanks for the replies and the web site link. I could have sworn there was an "old Vegas style" hotel & casino there before NY, NY, but I guess not!

the las vegas sun also has an interactive history of las vegas, including an interactive map:

History - Las Vegas Sun

it can be very time consuming, but its pretty cool if history is something that interests you.

Nope- the Hacienda was south of the Excalibur where Mandalay Bay stands now- watched that one blow up back in the late 90's......

Well, that link sucked. I use the latest version of Firefox, and that site not only won't let you see it, you have to use Task Manager to get out of Firefox. Definitely an Internet Exploiter only site.

I was looking over that site last night. On the homepage it states that the website was designed to be used with Internet Explorer only...

Wow, there's so much wonderful stuff in there!

I'll take your word for it, Mom^2. I use Exploiter as little as possible. Practically having to reboot my computer really doesn't make me want to take a look at it.

Well, this gal has done an awful lot of work. Photos, stories, facts..all about Las Vegas from the past.

Maybe if you find yourself at the library you can access one of their computers, they have IE on them?
