Maybe they are taking over the former Copeland's space for all those other stores that are in the article, or the former Cost Plus...

Looks like Zappos shoes is going in where Copeland's once was. Seafood City is in the spot where Joann fabric was. The most interesting development over here is that Circuit City moved in from their Trop/Eastern location to go toe to toe with Best Buy.

Thanks for the heads up anyway, Chest! I'm a bit into ethnic foods of all types and am always looking for various new places to look around at. I'm especially fond and want to learn more about Japanese food so I was particuarly interested in this thread. Thanks again!

Unfortunately it killed the corner of Eastern and Trop since the PetsMart moved down the street as well...I pass by Maryland and Katie every day and the Circuit City and Best Buy are heavily competing, both have banners outside saying how long they have been in Vegas and how dedicated they are to Vegas...Yes, I also found out about the Zappos and I think its great, I live by the other Zappos on Dean Martin and its a great store, most shoes are 20-30 dollars that were originally 80 and up...

I get haircuts at Jesse's on Eastern and Trop and it is a ghost town now. I think it's time for an indoor swapmeet, what do you say?

yeh, lol, it would be nice to have another swap meet on the south side of town other than the Q Mall at 95 and Tropicana, which is still a nice one...I wonder how the Burlington Coat Factory at that corner is doing...the new fresh and easy's should open a location there to fill up space...

Default Japan Market

There's a japanese food market on maryland and flamingo next to a sub sandwich place kind of to the side of target. There's a good amount of snacks like osenbe and candy. They also have a few vegetable and boxed foods like curry. They also have a freezer section with fish, mochi. It's a pretty small store and about half of it is full of japanese movies.

I just wish that there was a place here in town that had warm taiyaki. Back when I live in the SF Bay area May's kisaten in Japantown made the best taiyaki. The made both anju and chocco, but I loved the traditional anju taiyaki. I could eat by the dozen! They're not like anpan, they're at their best freshly made.

I am almost sure I have seen a Japanese market at the southwest corner of Flamingo & Arville behind the Starbucks
