Husband's employee work party was at Del Friscos. It was very good. I thought the steaks were extraordinary. They had many different types served in different ways. A bit pricey for my taste. But, I hate spending money on food.

Liked the Cracked Egg the one time I went there.

Blueberry Hill-been a couple times and I didn't really get a bang out of it. It was ok.

Was not impressed with Lucilles BBQ either. I have had better ribs.

Eager to get back there are try the Greek restaurants you all mentioned. We couldn't find any on our own when we were there, but we didn't search the whole valley for them either.

I think that a lot of the attraction to Lotus of Siam is that they have a whole menu of Northern Thai dishes, which no one else does. I can't really give you examples of dishes, b/c that would be pretty meaningless since they aren't featured anywhere else.

I have always enjoyed my food there (they have a whole Southern Thai menu too), but have never had any of the Northern Thai stuff (it's all meat based and I don't eat meat), but it looks really interesting..... I would recommend for someone who wants to expand their idea of what Thai food is or try something different from the typical pad thai or curries. I don't find their (southern thai) food to be radically better than other places around town, but I've never had anything bad.

Chiangmai Sausages, Kow Soi, those are Northern dishes. Kow Soi is the crispy noodles on top. I lived in Hang Dong for a couple of years....I'll be visiting them.

when you go, post something if you don't mind (esp. if you are familiar w/ the norther dishes...)

i agree w/ the doc...i have never had a bad meal at LoS (in fact i have had some really good ones...drunken seafood noodle = awesome). but i have had equally good meals at Komol (Komol makes it hotter, for sure, and i like their masaman better) and Ocha. it is the northern menu that makes LoS unique.

the only thing i have had off the northern menu was a catfish dish...very good, but i do not remember what it was called.

There seemed to be a lot of frog dishes in Chiangmai, also.

A serious word of advice. NEVER have Taco Bell, then Pancit, fried Lumpia, and Empanadas (Phillipino food). We usually just have cake and cookies at lodge on a degree night, but our newest Entered Apprentice took me seriously when I told him of my fondness for fried Lumpia. Urp...I'm still feeling the effects of it.

When I lived in Vegas before, my kids were very young and we didn't have much help with babysitting and were short on cash, so when we ate out it wasn't high end. The nicest place we ate was Grape Street for our rare date nights out - loved it! Otherwise we liked Memphis Championship BBQ (mmm, brisket!), Blueberry Hill (down home and kid friendly), The Draft House (good beer, pizza and burgers), and Chuck E Cheese (just kidding on that one but we went there a lot). This time the kids are older and we will have more expendable income, so we're looking forward to trying some of the higher end places people are recommending and visiting the old favorites (except for Chuck E s)!

Grape Street is my favorite restaurant. I keep forgetting about the Draft House (or as we call it, the Horse Barn). They brew some good beer too. And, Memphis BBQ is as good as you'll get in Las Vegas.

Has anyone tried Buzz BBQ at Tenaya & Craig? Should I sue them for the use of my name, or demand a cut?
