Yeah, lvkewlkid, all of Henderson is pretty disgusting. All of Vegas is horrible, matter of fact. And the United States. And North America. And it doesn't have a supermarket you can get to in 5 minutes.

Does ANYTHING please you?

most of Las Vegas pleases me, I love where I live now, I can pretty much get anywhere in the valley in 10-15 minutes because of how close we are to I-15, plus we live near 2 malls...

I just don't understand why anyone would want to live in Green Valley, it has an awful road system, it takes forever to get anywhere, nasty residents, very unfriendly towards pedestrians, and the list goes on...

I am just saying what I know about the area, I have lived in many places in Green Valley for 10 years...

I know you'd like to believe it is so, but it's simply not. North Las Vegas has always had a reputation of being a ghetto. Build as many nice houses as you would like and people will always talk about how it has/had a reputation of being a ghetto. You turned it into a race issue, not me. I said nothing about color, merely what people see the cities' reputation as.

Furthermore, even if you can afford to live in one of the nicer areas of NLV, you are just down the road from the ghetto part and may even drive through it to get to where you are going. Personally I wouldn't buy anywhere in NLV, not even where nice houses have been built.

Ask people that are natives or who have been there longer than olecapt and they will tell you that NLV has always had that reputation. I'm curious as to why you turned it into a race issue. Maybe you have underlying predjuce problems.
Yep, NLV is still the ghetto.

At least to you racist types.

For normal folk NLV is a best buy and interchangable with Henderson or Summerlin.

It does depend on where in NLV, of course. Some areas have beautiful mountain views.

Having grown up in Las Vegas, I can say that they only place in the valley that I would even consider living now is Henderson. They have the best government in the state & many of the top schools.

Sure, some of the older areas of Henderson are a little scary, just spend some time driving around and get the feel of the area.....but alos, some of the best neighborhoods in the valley are hidden down in Henderson: Green Valley, Green Valley Ranch, Lake Las Vegas, Anthem, Seven Hills, etc. Tuscany Hills, McDonald Ranch, etc...

It constantly amazes me how ignorant some people can be. Old nlv is still the ghetto. New NLV has never been the ghetto. How can a new area that didn't exist before have a history of being the ghetto? Dream on.

All I can say is WOW. I came on here because of work. I was looking for a safe place to stay for a few months or so. Make some money and go home. All city's have bad areas. Thats why I came here but the sounds of things it just doesn't seem safe anywhere there. This is pretty sad. So I guess I'll find work else where.
Thank You,

Read the threads again you missed something. The majority of the town is quite safe. Part of that is as safe as any urban area in the US. There are bad areas but they are few in number, geographically isolated and not very bad by US standards.
