I just got in to UNLV. I'm very happy about this because UNLV was my number one choice. My major is hotel management Im a 20 year old male from cali. Has anyone been to UNLV??? Im wondering if I made the right choice...?

Congrats on getting in. Yes, you made the right choice. The last that I checked, UNLV was the second best hotel management school in the country. The best is at some Ivy league school back east. Best of luck.

If you're wanting to major in hotel management, I couldn't think of a better choice for both school and city....

15 units? Sounds a bit over ambitious of a plan. You will have no social life. Try for part time if you want to take so many classes. In due time you will be required to do an internship anyway. And somtimes that is unpaid.

I was thinking I would take 12 units, and work part time at one of the big hotels. This should give me free time? I still want to go out on the weekends.

the chances of gettin weekends off for a 'newhire' are pretty slim...remember this is las Vegas where EVERYday is someones weekend.....and breakfast at 5:00pm is normal.

Hey dynimagelv thanks!! for the response. Ya thats true. Im at a four star hotel now. We never let new people get the weekends off. I hope i can get friday or saturday off. At least one.
