I'm a local and have been living here all my life. I know the wind can get really stupid, but is it just me or has is been worse than usual this year? The past few months I've had constant post nasal drip and throat/ear irritation...maybe its because I live in the Northeast when I used to live more in the center, so I might have mulberry allergy. My neighbor has a huge mulberry in his front lawn...never bothered me before! UNLV is Hell with the dust from construction. Its just been one huge bother this spring, any one else feeling me? Can't wait until the inferno aka Vegas summer...I always feel great.

I thought it was one of the worst we've ever had too, but Keven Janison said it wasn't even in the top ten worst. The average this year was almost 10 mph per day or something like that. I'd love Spring in Las Vegas if it wasn't for the wind. Summer is nice because the allergens are all gone. I guess they know better than to live in that heat than we do.

I don't think that the wind has been overly strong, but it seems that the wind has kind of stuck around for the last couple of weeks or so. One of my biggest gripes about the weather here is the wind. I can take the heat and the cold but the wind is just annoying!

Wind?

Ehh..it could be worse. It could be tornados, hurricanes, or earthquakes.

I agree, the wind needs to go away so we enjoy this beautiful weather before the heat really comes!!!!

Yeah, the wind sucks this year, but it could be worse. I always look at the bright side myself. I have family in the east coast and they always complain about the weather.

I flip back and forth to all the weather stations to laugh at how different they are. But you are right, they all say this year is no worse for wind then others. I disagree and it seems like every one of us does too.

That one wind last month was so powerful that it blew shingles off my and almost every one of my neighbors. That means my roof survived winds for the past 20 years but this wind was too much for it. That tells me something.

And yes the allergens are worse this year too.

It's always windy this time of year. Enjoy it. Soon it will be hot and dry, dry and hot, then the monsoons come with more wind. Then fall, my favorite time of the year.
