There really wasn't anything special that I did. I just kept wiggling it up, down and all around until I hit the right spot. There wasn't any caked on dirt or grease - the oven and rack were perfectly clean. It was definitely frustrating and I didn't yank on them (that would have been my husband's way of working it out) but I kept coming back to it. Patience I guess would be the operative word.

One goal of fixing something is to not break anything in the process, lol. Glad you had the patience and kept working on it until you got it out.

May I quote you the next time my husband tries to "fix" something in the house?

I did a lot of mechanical and electrical calibration and maintenance on professional audio equipment for three decades. I learned a lot about home repair (plumbing, electrical etc) over the course of time and owning many homes. Patience is a virtue, you need to take things slow and do a lot of visual inspection to see if you can diagnose the problem before you start with a hammer.

Maybe you should work together with your husband on repair projects, sometimes two heads are better than one. I learned a lot from watching other people and having good teachers help me fix things.

I do not hesitate to pay a professional after I work on something for a while and decide it's something best left to someone who is better at it than I am. Feel free to quote me!
