There are many moving parts to this complaint. They will refer you to tech support who will blame it on your router/wifi access point. If you follow the steps they suggest (connect directly to modem) then you can keep working that complaint.

Plenty of problems are indeed caused by routers. First thing anyone who feels Cox speeds are not up to par should be doing is connecting their PC directly to the cable modem and running a speed test from there.

Cox works great in my neighborhood. Zero outages. Always over 100 meg download.
You just jinxed yourself. I've scheduled for an outside check tomorrow, but I'm sure they'll want to come in and charge me $75.00, as they tried to charge me for a new modem, despite the fact I have been with cox 25 years, about half the time I've lived here.

Nope, it was a Cox issue. I use their email with my Thunderbird. They decided to lock me out because they said my password was too short. After using the same password for the last 19 years with them, now it's too short. So it's fixed for the next 19 years when they will make it quit working because the password is now too long.

Something looks wrong with the title of this thread. Shouldn't it be "Coitus Interruptus"?

Yeah, it was gonna be Coxus Interruptus, but the babies on this site would be offended.

Hopefully 5G internet for the home will give other players access to the Las Vegas market. If so, there may be some healthy and much needed competition.

I don't have any issues with Cox except their prices. Cancelled our service with them and resigned up (under my name this time) to get their $50/m offer for 100mpbs for 12mos

How about Cox block? In all seriousness, I work from home and I was having daily hiccups a few months ago, then it was fine for awhile, now the daily hiccups are back. Cox is much better than Comcast which I had where I used to live so my expectations are already low.

About once a week it slows down. Really down. I can handle once a week.
But it took two phone calls and three different people to get land line to say private or unavailable after first ordering that way and telling them that is necessary. I find their employees average.

Pathetic that I have to use my cell service for reliable internet. There are some very important things I need internet for, and cox is too unreliable.

I guess it all depends on where you live. I haven't had any slow downs. At my modem I get pretty much advertised speeds. And no hiccups either.
