They did an upgrade to ours... Maybe EA knows what they did. Basically installed another box on the through street...never touch anything within the cul de sac. My speeds now always test between 135 and 200 megabit down and 10 to 15 up. Ping is between 18 and 35 milliseconds. I use Cox, Google and the MS test and they are all consistent. Have not seen a number below 125 since the new box was installed.

One interesting thing is it keeps creeping up. Both down and up seem to increase a few percent every month.

We have had two service calls over 20 years. Both ending with a new coax connector at the local box. Obviously they were not unprepared as there is still 8 or 10 feet of coiled coax in the box. Also had two scheduled outages.

Well, my internet worked for all of 12 hours. Time to switch to AT&T.

Going back to dial up??? The only options for high speed here are Cox, CenturyLink, and maybe LV.Net wireless.

Me and Al Gore were business partners. But really, every time I post, I find it necessary to tell people how long I've been in LV. LOL

I'm pretty sure AT&T and Verizon both have high speed internet. It's pathetic that my cell service is 100% reliable, and speeds as fast as I get with cox. 8-17mbs

Each and every day that for any length of time Cox is not delivering on their promised 50Mbps, call & talk to their billing department and ask for an adjustment to your bill.

Do this each and every day that for any moment in time it is not working.

I did that today, but they won't reimburse me for the $5000 loss I took in the stock market today because of them. Guess I'll have to talk to my lawyer ive had here for the last 36 years.

Fair enough. You can run off phone data, but you're going to run into caps pretty fast.

There are many moving parts to this complaint. They will refer you to tech support who will blame it on your router/wifi access point. If you follow the steps they suggest (connect directly to modem) then you can keep working that complaint.

Plenty of problems are indeed caused by routers. First thing anyone who feels Cox speeds are not up to par should be doing is connecting their PC directly to the cable modem and running a speed test from there.

Cox works great in my neighborhood. Zero outages. Always over 100 meg download.
