Actually, we're a really nice bunch here ZRTIST..maybe a bit crusty on the edges, but to know us is to love us.

We've been in the business of accepting new residents and welcoming tourists since way back in the day...

So..check out the city data forum, right here. There is a lot of info (both good and bad) contained therein on the numerous threads.

Don't be afraid, we won't bite. You need help, we'll try and give it.

It's what we do...

I hope to move and meld into this framework you guys have created.
I'm renting a movie over the weekend that will offer some insight into your community; "Bugsy"...from its inception.
I know this is somewhat fictitious. It's a start...
Bugsy won't tell you anything. It probably wasn't even filmed here. I've never seen a movie that portrays Vegas as it really is for locals, but the movie Casino was very accurate in portraying that whole Stardust Hotel - Lefty Rosenthall - Tony Spilatro thing if you realize it was years of happenings condenced into two hours. But that was way back when. It's not the same town now.

In some odd kind of way...I take that as a compliment from olecapt.

Well it was meant to be in "some odd sort of way"...

Compliment? I dunno...that sounds kind of strong for the intent...

The Grit Beneath the Glitter: Tales ... - Google Book Search

This isn't a movie, but an essay written by Brian Frehner, a friend of mine. We both grew up in Las Vegas - This is a REAL story if you want one.

As I told him, this story takes me back to my days of hunting horny toads and lizards while dodging the tumbleweeds in my barefeet.
