It seems like a good summary of the article. Neither Jones or Kraft are mentioned in the article so I don't see how your summary of it makes sense. Maybe you thought I was opining but I was giving the cliffs of the article I linked.

If you're referring to their votes, yes, they are apparently two votes behind the relocation. The vote doesn't happen if the stadium situation in Oakland is resolved. Clearly there is effort by the league there. Nobody in the NFL wants Oakland to lose the Raiders and if they leave, Los Angeles is the first site under consideration if the Chargers reject it.

A relocation to Las Vegas is the last resort. It is third on the list but one could argue the Chargers will lose their SD stadium vote and remove #2 from the picture.

Oakland has no real option for the raiders to stay so far. Vegas has by far the best chance for the Raiders to get their stadium without giving up a big portion of the team. And the NFL is doing the same thing they did in St. Louis by saying they wanted the Rams to stay.

Again this is my opinion from what I have read from NFL and local reporters.

That is certainly a reasonable opinion. FWIW Adelson is expecting some sort of equity deal in the Raiders for his trouble so it would seem moving here will cost him some ownership. Maybe it is less than what has been proposed in Oakland.

Two Rooney kids had to divest inheritances due to casino ties so that part stated it in the Raiders article on Yahoo conflicts with recent actions taken by the NFL.

Quote:
The general expectation is that if this works out, and the Raiders move, you will get an ownership stake in the team. Is that likely?

I am taking the risk to guarantee the completion of the stadium. I think it’s going to significantly help the value of the team, so I’d like to get some interest in it. But if I took an option on the team, the interest size of the option would have to be approved by the NFL.
The question becomes whether the stadium deal hinges upon the NFL owners approving Adelson's equity acquisition. The NFL wouldn't permit Tony Romo to have a fantasy sports convention at Sands Convention Center last year. The Rooney precedent that forced two heirs to sell equity in the Steelers, the ban on Las Vegas gaming advertising during NFL games and the ban on players having a convention in Las Vegas would lead a reasonable to believe there may be problems with giving a casino owner equity in a team among existing owners.

Its not just the downplay. NFL sent executives that specifically work on stadium stuff this past week to Oakland and will be sending them again soon to discuss how to keep this team in Oakland. Thats a huge sign on where the NFL stands

The did the same thing with the Rams, and then they let them move to LA even tho St. Louis had a plan to build them a stadium

This is a video distributed by the stadium lobbyists. Ignoring the dubious assertions, it seems like the deep pockets could have put something together better than this. I especially enjoy the part where they stress that the public will own it when the deal says the public gets exactly 0% of the revenues.

I'm not surprised. The people I met in Oakland don't want the Raiders. They don't give a pinch about them. They called them the Oakland rodents. Medical professionals, shop owners, cab drivers. Same attitude. If the Raiders end up here, it's because no one else will take them. Has a team ever been dissolved, instead of moved?

No NFL team would be dissolved. The Raiders are worth $500 million and they are one of the lowest valued teams in the NFL. Mark Davis is stuck - he can't afford a state of the art stadium on his own. Now if he were interested in selling today, maybe some of the Bay Area billionaires could step in and do it on their own:

Larry Ellison - Oracle
Mark Zuckerberg - Facebook
Larry Page - Google
Sergey Brin - Google
Laurene Jobs - Apple/Disney
Eric Schmidt - Google
Dustin Moskovitz - Facebook
Jan Koum - WhatsApp
Charles Schwaub - Charles Schwaub
Travis Kalanick - Uber
George Lucas - Star Wars/Disney

All of these folks are worth at least $5 billion and could probably afford the team and a new stadium. Larry Ellison is an adrenaline junkie and spends lots of cash on yachting - a sport I'm sure isn't profitable.

Why would we want to have a team here when the NFL thinks our money is no good?

We can't advertise during games but hey build a stadium and have a team?

Is that going to life the ban on vegas gaming advertising?
