Hello everyone! I'm glad to be joining your community!

I am moving to Las Vegas next week (still finding a place to live), and have been searching through the helpful hints and websites provided by everyone here (Thanks!).

I want to ask how long it takes to get to a certain point (Eldorado High School) from other areas, though this could be a thread about the time it takes to drive from any place around LV to another.

Henderson (89074): From Eastern/Wigwam to Eldorado High School (eastern Las Vegas, apparently)
Driving Directions from [2821-2899] Crystal Lantern Dr, Henderson, NV to Eldorado High School, 1139 Linn Ln, Las Vegas, NV

Summerlin (89144): From just under Summerlin Parkway to Eldorado High School.
Driving Directions from [1400-1599] Iron Springs Dr, Las Vegas, NV to Eldorado High School, 1139 Linn Ln, Las Vegas, NV

Mapquest, Google Maps, and Live Maps (the Microsoft map service) are all saying that both of these trips are about 25 minutes... yet what I have heard indicates otherwise with traffic. I will be a schoolteacher, so I'll be driving very early in the morning.

Early morning traffic usually isn't too terrible.

Since both locations are about equal distance, I'd just choose whichever you like more.

The Henderson location may be more fun though; you'd be right by lots of hot spots for locals, such as the District and the new Town Square.

Thanks radraja, I'll have to visit those two places at some point!

I was concerned because I might roommate with 2 other people who live in a house at that location in Henderson, and they said that it wouldn't be a 25 minute drive considering the traffic.

I guess my only other question is concerning going East/West on 515 right through the center of Las Vegas... does this usually get slowed down due to traffic? Thanks!

Since the widening project finished a few months ago, it's much nicer. You will wait a bit if you need to transfer to the 15, but otherwise, it's pretty smooth.
