I have read and heard stories of how bad las vegas drivers can be. I heard in one podcast that window tinting can be a reason, because they can just drive any way they want and noone can identify them. Does anyone know why they drive so aggressively or have such a bad rap?

IMO I think it's due to a lot of drinking and driving. Plus a lot of out of state visitors. This is just my opinion but a lot of people have told me that as well.

We don't have that much bad drivers, just about as much as any big city. We do have aggressive drivers, but really it is not that bad. Our freeways do suck, so sometimes we do have to occasional aggrassive drive, but you have that with any big city.

People just don't know where the hell they are going and don't realize that some lanes end and some lanes are turn/exit only lanes, and some ppl don't know how to make a turn in and out of parking lots...

Tourists are to blame in and around The Strip. The freeways are a whole 'nother story.

As far as the lawyer commercials, Vegas is nothing compared to the Detroit area. If I ever hear another Jeffery Feiger commercial I will probably bash the television.

As far as the drivers go, My husband and I had NEVER been in an auto accident before we moved out here. We have been in 5 (collectively) since moving here in June '06. Not one was our fault. 3 were due to red light runners even AFTER doing the obligatory 3 second wait once the light turned green. My husband was rear ended at a red light while driving a fire truck, hard to miss that I would think???

We have never lived in a big city before here so I have nothing to compare it to, but you MUST become a defensive driver living out here and always be aware of your surroundings. I try not to ever talk on my cell phone while driving out here because when I do I feel like I am a danger to myself and everyone around me because you really do need to stay focused on the roads out here.

this is the ONE time I can't jump up and defend Las Vegas .... the drivers here suk.... personal feelings....it is because so many are from somewhere else and EACH area has it's own little pet things.....in Las Vegas the rule seems to be "if you have EVER seen the light green before....it is ALWAYS green for you" In South Jersey it's the opposite "if you THINK it's going to turn yellow sometime this week...SLAM on the brakes BUT....if you THINK it's going to change from red to green in the next 20 minutes GO because you MUST be at least one block down the road before it turns green"

You add ALL of those little foibles into the mix and it's like Beirut on a bad day.

If they put red lights cameras anywhere in the city limits they would make millions of dollars a month.
