We live in Green Valley Ranch in Henderson. There is a Jewish temple within our neighborhood: Midbar Kodesh and another new one just outside the Ranch: Ner Tamid.

My child attends Coronado High School and he has many Jewish friends and classmates.

Our good friend attends Las Vegas Academy (a magnet arts high school) in downtown Las Vegas and most of his friends are Jewish.

A friend of mine is Jewish, lives in Summerlin, and her kids attend the Hebrew Academy.

Another Jewish friend of mine lives in Summerlin and her kids go to the public schools that they are zoned for there.

Default You will have no worries!

We just moved out of henderson, but my daughter attended Midbar kodesh's preschool and would have been in their k program next year. It is an amazing preschool. There is a large jewish community in Henderson. Our older son went to Frank Lamping. It is a public school that is very highly rated. They spoke about Chanukah and Christmas during the holidays. The director of the preschool is Mira slobody. She is very sweet. You should give her a call!
Good luck

Things must have changed, because when I went to Frank Lamping 6 years ago, I had teachers who refused to talk about Hanukkah and they had Christmas song assemblies...

Mira Slobody is great, I went to Hebrew School and Midbar and she is a good person, she is also a teacher at the Hebrew Academy, however the rest of that synogogue is awful and just cares about money...

Default lvkewlkid

we didnt belong to the temple, only the school which was very warm and loving. I couldn't have asked for more. Maybe in Lamping it depends on your teacher. She knew our son was jewish so maybe that is why they told some stories about chanukah?? Not sure.

Please recommend. One of the things I do miss about LI was a great Kosher Deli out by the Lake Grove Mall in Smithtown. I have a better chance of catching one in LV than on LI...since I have absolutely no plans of ever returning there, now that my dad has moved to NJ.
