I prefer the pump action 12 gauge approach myself....birdshot works best....double-0 buck just puts a hole in the wall that lets more in.....

When I used to live in Eagle Trace apartments I would see scorpions all the time. Some already dead, some alive. They were more scared of me than I were of them. Never got a chance to kill one. Kinda quick.

Scorpions glow under a blacklight.

Go buy yourself a blacklight. Turn out all the lights (after dark, naturally). Go out to eat or something. A couple hours later, return and sweep the house with the blacklight, while wearing your scorpion stompin' boots (or wielding your scorpion trappin' kit).

The scorpions are coming from the palm trees around your house. They love palm trees.

The big black ones are no big deal. Their venom is weaker than a wasps. (So, unless you're allergic, you'll be OK.) It's the little brown or yellow ones you need to be concerned about.

And, I don't kill scorpions. Even the brown and yellow ones. I trap them using a bowl and a cover and escort them outside. I like scorpions. I also like black widows*. Anything that kills roaches and crickets is OK in my book.

*We have a monster black widow living under my barcalounger. She's so big, we've given her a name. I plan on showing Mabel the door before the holidays, though. "Thanks for the free pest control!"
