No argument here... though I doubt your fellow rootin' tootin' gun polishers would agree with more "government interference" in their lives. Sounds like you're for big government with that idea.

I bet most people here will say those two statements are in direct conflict with each other. How do you educate the people without them feeling like they're micromanaged? We at least agree that a gun license should mean something... like you know how to use it, store it away from kids and not be crazy enough to kill people with it. It's just common sense. Why argue against those ideas?

Now you're off topic and trolling. This thread was not started in Politics and Other Controversies.

Keep the thread focused locally, or take it to P and OC. Thank you.

I don't like the odds of "probably" and "almost" so yea, I'm comfortable with those chances.

You're not the first person to deal with this problem. Lots of quick access pistol safes out there to prevent the kids from getting to your guns, but still allowing you speedy access when you need. Here's one:

Original Pistol Box | Fort Knox

There are many other with various combinations of locking and attaching methods.

Where is this coming from? I don't see any indication of this.

Maybe you should suggest to the top level admins to make a home protection / self protection / firearms forum? There seems to be a lot of discussion on these topics here, and I'd be amazed if it wasn't the same on the other city/state forums. Maybe they should suggest that they get their own playground. P & OC is not really the proper place for them either.

If you want to make that suggestion, be my guest. There's plenty of second amendment threads in P and OC, but it's up to Admin about starting a separate forum for gun issues.

I'm not talking 2nd Amendment. That's appropriate for P and OC.

I'm thinking more practical / technical, and not just guns, but all aspects of home and personal security.
