Has any announcement been made regarding the Harmon...what exactly is holding up the demolition?
Does anyone think it will be coming down this summer? For some reason I expected it to be gone already.

Last I heard it was still tied up in court by various requests for tests by the primary insurance company. I think it will eventually come down but I would not be surprised to see it siip from 0 to 24 months.

The Harmon will be dismantled piecemeal, floor-by-floor, over the next year. Demolition will cost $11.5 million, with work starting this summer.

that is I think the third or fourth time taking it down has been approved. I will reserve judgement until it actually starts to shrink. Won't be long though.

Okay, so will this have any negative impact on people staying at surrounding resorts?

I am kind of up in the air about suggesting someone stay nearby without knowing more.

Thank you for the responses.

I just love pill-shaped, glass, curved towers, and this one with different colored glass! To see this go?

Why not tear down that eyesore south of there? Monte Carlo!

I was in Vegas when CC was going up. Walking through Bellagio, I started talking to the people in the condo sales booth that had there. This lead to then driving me over to the sales center.

Looking though all the condo models that had set up there, the only one that looked even vaguely interesting was the Harmon. I'm a little sad it never got completed (although I'd never buy one new at the prices they were asking.)

It is a shame that it has to come down...imho it would have been one of the most attractive buildings down there.
