Help! Does anybody have a Harmon Stoker stove? We are trying to start our new one for the first time... we have the little pellets and the gel... is the blower suppose to be on when starting? Where do you put the pellets to catch in the stove, on the grates or behind them???

I checked everywhere online that deals with Harman coal stoves, & they give no information other than "see manual" & "use gel only when stove is cold"!!!
I've used a coal/woodstove in the past, but am not familiar with the new lines, so I hesitate to say one thing or the other. Is the "blower" for heat circulation?? If so, I would probably wait 'til the coals are started before turning it on, but again, I'm not sure...just applying some (hopefully) common sense...
Jungle, we have it going now. My hubby is going to call the dealer tommorrow. When he did start it though, it filled with smoke and it was coming out through the glass on the door, I dunno.

Sorry you got all the smoke!!! Just think...a week from now you'll be "old pro's" at it!!
It's funny, we're outside sweating today in swim trunks & you're puttin' on the coal stove!!!
I was actually sitting on the deck in the sun. It was so warm and wonderful. Inside though, it's a bit cold. My husband is on the phone with the installer right now...
