What is northwest Las Vegas like? I lived in Vegas before near the Strip for about 7 months. I never had a chance to visit Northwest Las Vegas. Does anyone on this board live in that area? What is it like?

According to some of your posts love, you seem to not like Las Vegas...stating that most people here are not educated and the like...(erroneously)

Why do you want this info? Planning on moving back?

With all the foreclosures, I want to invest a place to live and naturally living in Calfornia, I want to pay less state tax, so partial year residency would be good. I'll pretty much avoid the locals and just stick with the California people I know who have moved there.

Unfortunately, a lot of the Californians have had to move elsewhere...their houses are all empty and in foreclosure, so you'll have a lot of choices in homes to choose from here in Las Vegas..and alas, you'll be stuck with the locals, who are mostly Californians who can't afford to get out, LOL!!

Good luck to you. The northwest is really nice...and new. Lots of building of new homes and shopping centers up there!

There's always Modesto, Stockton, Tracy and SAC .. lost of forclosures there and you wont have to leave Cali. Maybe PHX would be better since they might be slightly more educated than us dumb Nevadans

I live in the NW and it is great. A lot of area that hasn't been developed yet. Plenty of good new stores and restaurants plus there is Centennial Hills Park with a new YMCA that just opened.

Traffic sucks. Stay in California. It's better for your ego anyways.

I also live in Centennial Hills, and my only complaint is the lack of gas stations in the farther northern sections of the area. I live 3.5 miles north of Jones & 215(Jones & Horse - the upper most Iron Mountain Ranch), and the nearest station is the one at Costco. Unfortunately, it's not open 24 hours. Other than that, it's a pretty nice area. Now if we just had a bookstore in Centennial Hills!

HEH, stay in California it's better for your ego. Had to laugh at that.

Isn't it interesting how things come out thru avenues like this or even e-mails where it just sounds bad. Tuscani may in fact be a great person, but just reading that makes you think about ego. I did as well.
