Hey all. I go to Vegas about once every 3 months. Surprisingly, I've never hiked there and hiking is a passion of mine. I will be in Vegas Friday to Monday, and I want to hike a couple of trails during my stay.

Locals, what are your top three recommended hiking trails? The more breathtaking and scenic, the better. Also, since my fiance is going with me, I'm looking for novice/intermediate trails. Nothing intense. She's just getting into hiking. Thanks in advance!

That's exactly the one I was going to suggest. You can start in back of the casino (formerly the Hacienda, recently renamed Hoover Dam Lodge) and take it all the way to the dam. It's very pretty and not very strenuous.

Not sure how much snow you'd find, but Red Rock Canyon is the best hiking except for Mt. Charleston where you would be in a lot of snow at this time of year.

I would suggest for an easy hike around the Red Springs area adjacent to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Over at Red Rock I like to go to the Willow Springs/La Madre area of the park. Nice rock formations and nice foliage of pine trees the further up you go into the trails. The views are beautiful at this trail.

Red Rock Canyon if you want something unique. Plenty of easy trails for the new hiker. If you want fantastic views of the city, hit the Calico Tanks trail where you'll also see petroglyphs on the way. (When you enter Red Rock, they'll give you a map for all of the trails.)

Should be great weather for hiking around in Red Rock Canyon this weekend.

I like the Red Rock Canyon hikes that I have taken. There are a wide variety if them T ALL SKILL LEVELS.

My favorite hikes in the region are on the China Date Ranch in Tecopa Hot Springs, CA. However, that is about 2.5 hours out of Las Vegas.

Great hikes around Mt Charleston/Lee Canyon but it is farther away compared to Red Rock Canyon. I like to hike around the Mary Jane Falls trail, nice scenery around the area.
