Now that another Obama tax is kicking in, what's the cheapest monthly healthcare you've found available? Healthy 33 year old guy, workout, never smoke, drink maybe once a month.

Funny and ironic. You call it "another Obama tax", but still want to take advantage of the cheapest healthcare it provides. Classic anti-Obama hypocrisy.

Further, you won't get your answer here. You need to compare plans at the Nevada health exchange.

https://www.nevadahealthlink.com/

Considering the popularity of the plan, the site is overwhelmed by people just like you seeking affordable healthcare coverage. Give it a couple days for the internet traffic to die down.

Your best chance is to go through an employer. Osamacare quoted me $582 per month for the "silver" cheapo plan for my wife and I. I thought my employer was high at $396 but boy was I wrong. If it was just me, it would be $78. Considering I'm quickly closing in on a $700,000 bill... thank goodness for the insurance.

You can try an Apple store also. I believe that they offer healthcare for part time.

You must be older or a smoker because those are not the rates I'm seeing.

I was just able to log in into the Nevada health exchange. Bronze plans for people in their 40's start at exactly $200/month (EDIT: these prices are per peson). Silver plan starts at $259/month. Gold starts at $284/month. Platinum starts at $312/month. No subsidies to the above quotes.

For that platinum plan (MyHPN Platinum 1), here are the specifics:

Deductible: $100 per person
Office Visit: $10
Dental: Not Included (separate dental plans start at $22/month)
Prescription: $10
Specialists: $10
Vision: Not Included

Not bad at all!

Many off topic posts deleted.

Keep this thread on the OP's specific question. Take the general political discussions to what I'm sure are existing threads in the appropriate general forum.

First of all, your other quote was for the silver plan. I priced the platinum plan. You're comparing apples to orangutans.

Secondly, getting coverage for you and your spouse is not simply a matter of doubling the single rate. You get a small discount when adding a spouse. Just click the "by household" option when pricing a plan. Don't take my word for it... go price it yourself: https://www.nevadahealthlink.com/

Thirdly, the emergency room fee is $150. It's easy to find. You simply click the name of the plan you're interested in, and it's all right there. What's the problem?

Finally, if a couple in Las Vegas makes less than $62,000/year, they qualify for a goverment subsidy on these rates. You can calculate your subsidy here: http://kff.org/interactive/subsidy-calculator/

I doubt your $396 plan has the same deductibles/fees as the platinum plan, but if you're happy with it, KEEP IT!

Lately everytime I try to access Nevada Healthlink website, all I get is "Service Unavailable HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable."

They're gonna have to a lot better then this.

First he NV unemployment system goes down and now Health link, not a very good "first impression" for someone wanting government mandated insurance.

Another question I have is my employer coverage is pre-taxed out of my income, if you switch over to marketplace coverage can you then deduct the cost of your insurance from your taxes?

I wonder if doctors in Mexico take Blue Cross?
The Nevada site has been up and working for 2 days now... I have no idea what you are talking about.
