So I am visiting a dying relative and the hotel is near The Strip, I have checked several hotels near by and they are all like $30-50 and sometimes maybe $100, is this normal? is it like a supply/demand thing (cheaper prices) or the hotels are terrible.. I would think in the summer the prices should be ridiculously high?

One ,I checked because my family stayed there once and liked (Circus Circus) is only $33 per night??

If Las Vegas had a "season", Summer would be "off-season".. but you can find deals like that year-round (other than NYE). We used to find the best deals were either right now in the middle of July, or the week before X-mas.

What are the resort fees? Sometimes it can be misleading.. The room is really $50

Circus-circus is a dump though. Have fun.

They are cheap because they want your trip to cost less so you can spend your money gambling.

They are not cheap...by the time you get pay resort fees, excessive tips, by water at 5 bucks a bottle, upgrade to the next level, pay taxes to this boss and that....90 bucks is more like it. The list prices in Vegas are very deceiving.

"on season" is when there is an event, such as electronic trade shows...etc
Vegas has a lot of events all year round.

LV hotels are a stone cold bargain compared to other major destinations, even with the resort fees.

No way. I spend more per night in vegas at hotels than anywhere I have been save Manhattan....its not the list fees...its the other things that reach into your pocket.

get drunk and pillage the mini bar or the sex toys at hrc....it will be at least double the list rate.

when was the last time you were on the road and traveled?...the cosmo is like 470 a night for a basic room in the weekends...crazy.

Now, off strip properties can be a decent deal...
