I'm currently on cox and the data cap is killing me with everyone watching netflix in the house hold. What's the best ISP here in vegas with good speeds\price and no data cap?

Cox.

I have been listening to music on you-tube, while the kids are watching something on Netflix, and playing games online and never saw a performance issue. Call them. Maybe there's an issue with your connection. Also, make sure you have a decent router. Many performance issues are the result of the home network itself.

If you're talking data cap because you don't want to pay for unlimited data, good luck with that.

I use my Verizon phone as a hotspot...pretty slow, but no data cap!

Not a good solution for you though.

Cyborg,

You must be grandfathered. I don't think they're offering unlimited data any more.

Yeah, I started with them when it was US West/Airtouch Cellular and for nine years worked as an employee of US WEST/Quest/Donnelly....I still get an employee discount to this day Even though I left them in 2006 to run my construction company.

Does Cox actually enforce their data caps here?
I've read that they are all bark and no bite.

I am also grandfathered in Verizon. I use to be a reseller back in the early 90's when it was GTE Mobile Net in Northern California.

All that usage and still no data cap? I was getting around ~20mbs a few days ago, now it is 2-3mbs.

Yep, I hardly ever come close to my monthly allowance except one month I exceeded it. Cox sent an email saying I needed to upgrade the service and placed a speed limit cap on the service for the remaining days in that billing cycle. The speed cap was reversed on the first day of the new billing date for the subscription.

Make sure your wireless router is secured. Sometimes, it's other people " borrowing" your bandwidth.

Cox also recently made some changes to their network, and I received an email from them telling me to reboot my cable modem. Of course, it hit my spam folder, and I didn't see it for a couple of days. That could be the issue as well. My speeds went back up to normal after I rebooted the modem, my wireless router, then my computer.
