I'm heading to Vegas in July and wanted to also check out the Grand Canyon and Los Angeles. I wanted to know if there are any kind of tour buses that takes you to Los Angeles and possibly coming back the same day for a good price?

You want to go to LA and come back on the same day? Sounds pointless.

How is it pointless? Depart to LA in the morning and depart back to Vegas in the night.

It's a 12 hour round trip by bus.

Not at all. My mother in law takes the bus from Ranch 99 market at Spring Mountain and around Arville to Los Angeles. It drops off at either Union Station or Chinatown. Yes it takes like four hours if the traffic is light. So go early in the morning and return after rush hour. That is, if you really need to get something done in Los Angeles and get back quick. It can be done.

It's only 20 minutes by air. But rent a car and drive.

A Grayhound bus that stops in San Bernandino will take anywhere from 5-6 hours. Buses don't go faster than 55 on the highway and will go slower when the incline is steep.

All flights I've taken to LA from LV are around 70 minutes. Not cost effective unless you're by yourself. It ends up being almost the same time as driving as you can reach orange county in about 4 hours if there's no traffic. LA itself is about the same travel time if there's no traffic(big if).

270 mile trip. 5 hours with a 15 minute stop in San Bernandino. 270/5 = 54mph.

What's the point of going to LA for a day? Downtown is about as exciting as Phoenix downtown unless you have an event to catch at Staples or Nokia.
