I thought Harmon was built already???

Abandoned construction projects still dot the Las Vegas Valley - VEGAS INC

Fontainebleau
Harmon Hotel
The Shops at Summerlin
Manhattan West
Mercer
Parkline Lofts
Spanish View Towers
St. Regis Residences
Uptown
Vantage Lofts

Quote:
It wasn’t long ago that hotels, high-rise condominiums and massive retail complexes seemingly sprang up daily. Today, many of the vestiges remain: partially built structures with exposed foundations and steel beams.
Many of the mothballed projects face an uncertain future, signs that their owners either don’t have the money to complete them or don’t think the economy has recovered enough to make them viable.

Harmon is built (mostly), but in litigation pending an implosion or other destruction of the property.

An implosion would be nice for a change.

Well no implosion but the Sahara is coming down Downtown is changing and many places on Fremont East are being re done and new businesses established Bills Gambling hall getting a new name and $186 Million face lift . What LV needs more than anything is better transportation form the airport and around town but that is another post all of it's own. Hopefully the above pictures posted start going away one at a time as the economy improves. LV just got caught short when the economy tanked and the pictures are the casualties of that.

I think you're seeing some of these projects (especially the non-casino, non-strip) ones getting picked up cheap out of bankruptcy, and getting restarted/redeveloped. The condo project on the hill in Henderson is interesting. If they finished that, I'd look at buying one if the price was not ridiculous.

These?

They look pretty interesting to me.

Yes.

Right idea, ridiculously wrong timing.

I like the design...where is that condo building?
I bet the ones with strip views will be expensive.

Drive down Horizon Ridge and you can't miss those condos. It's called "Manhattan" if I'm not mistaken. It's one of those projects where you wonder why someone doesn't step in and finish them. They look mostly complete. The view is certainly top notch.

It's been a year since I was there, though.

But it's in Henderson, and then you'd have to battle the overly-vigilant, Nazi-flavored Henderson Police force! One may stop you some night, there you are shivering in fright, remembering that incident of them kicking the motorist who was having a diabetic reaction, thinking he was drunk!

All I have to see is a sign Henderson City Limits and I make an abrupt U-turn!
