Thank goodness there is no place in Las Vegas that would make this list - is there? I can't think of any.

10 most overrated tourist traps (and what to see instead)

Maybe the clubs, but people seem to enjoy them. Many complain that this town has become overpriced, but at least we still give a little bang for the buck.

I have a theory that those "clubs" are overpriced because the owners, and tourists who frequent them, come from places that are way overpriced, and it is an ego trip to spend megabucks for nothing. Not sure how many true locals frequent them, unless they have no personality, or it's an addiction. It's like cell phones ¬ give an egotist a cell phone and they'll bother everyone within 100 yards to show how important they are ...even though everyone with $10 has a cell phone these days.

But I can't think of any sites in Las Vegas that look great in pictures, and are known throughout the world, that are a big disappointment when seen in person. Maybe the Excalibur, but probably not that either.

Good thread. I can definitely vouch for the Leaning Tower if Pisa. Besides there being nothing to do in the small town, you will have to wait in line to do anything. It's also impossible to take a clean unobstructed photo of the tower without a tourist fake posing against the tower. Restaurants had long lines also, all of them.

Stonehenge doesn't belong on the list.

It is possible to get right up there to the point where you could touch the stones. Just have to write to English Heritage and ask permission.

Let's keep this thread on topic, please, which means not discussing the other places that ARE on the list.Thanks.

Maybe this thread should be moved to the general forums area. Then every post will be on topic. Help us out here.

It could be fine in the travel forum, (there may already be one there, I haven't looked) but it can stay here if it stays Vegas related.
