I caught a guy dropping his pants and urinating on the fence across the street from me and had to call the cops. One of my neighbors allowed his "brother" to live in his car in the driveway for two weeks. I had to pester code enforcement and the police for like 10 straight days before he moved on. On two occasions, hooligans tossed rocks through my car window which was parked in front of my house.

This seems like an awful lot to put up with over four years, even in "the hood"
Despite all this, I still wouldn't have done it any other way.
that sux about your windows . sorry to hear. (oh yeah...sorry i pee'd on the fence )

*and thx for the blog link

Leave early for work. Always. Don't jump lanes. You won't gain a thing. Don't get angry with idiot drivers. Laugh at them. Slow down, and relax. The freeways rarely work. Learn alternate routes. REALLY alternate ones. Main roads like Decatur or Maryland Pkwy. can be just as bad as freeways. Torrey Pines, or Spencer are largely forgotten and can save time.

Your right Fexlh about Torrey Pines, but that darn road has so many dips in it!

I must just be lucky then. I have yet to have a problem with 515 from Horizon to Tropicana at any time of the day. I don't move as fast as the idiots but I do just fine, and it is nice to just sit back and laugh at all of these people who are in such a hurry. I also get across Trop (515 to Maryland) to UNLV really quickly too (about 15-20 minutes total one way, sure beats my 90 minute commute in Denver), now the parking situation at school, thats a whole other situation. People kill for those spots. There have been a couple of days where I self parked at the Hard Rock and walked over to campus. Much easier IMO. Sometimes I'll park in the In-N-out (or any other business) parking lot on Maryland and hike to school (worked until the manager yelled at me, so now I buy a drink every time I do it so I'm a customer). I'm glad I paid $100 for my UNLV parking pass($200 for both cars). I have found that this town is all about outside-of-the-box thinking. Think abstractly and you will do fine in this town for sure.

There's a scientology church about 200 yards east of Maryland on Harmon with a big parking lot. I parked there for 5 years without any problems... Might be worth a try.
