Are there any free dental clinics for an unemployed, uninsured, college student? I am in desperate need of a dentist.

CHeck out the UNLV School of Dentistry. If you are 18-21 you may qualify for Medicaid, if you are unemployed. Medicaid usually (depending upon the state) will pay for Dental Care. I am 25 and JUST NOW was able to pay to get these 2 Wisdom Teeth removed. Its been 4 years of heavy use of Ibprofen.

I'm not on Medicaid, I'll be getting a call on Friday to see if I qualify. I called UNLV this morning and I have to pay $117 for examination, scan, and extraction of 1 tooth. And I don't have that amount of money on me.

I'm not sure if you would be eligible here, but it's worth a try:

Their number changed, called and no one answered. Any other places, google isn't helping me all that much.

I called the UNLV dental school one time, and I was informed of the charges for exam, scan, and then they told me if it was too complicated, beyond their realm of expertise, they wouldn't accept me. What a risk to take! Spend all that initial money, and then tell you they won't accept you!

For now, I'll just stick to Mexican border towns for my dental work! And that may sound penny-wise-dollar-foolish, but while there I stock up on prescription drugs and make the trip pay for itself!

Yeah, that would be about right for a sliding fee scale Sorry I couldn't find anything better. I usually can, but LV sounds like its gonna be alot like Florida in regards to the lack of social services.

I'm just guessing, but it's quite possible there's some underground dentists (not licensed in this country, but other countries) operating in the Las Vegas area, operating out of their homes, and it's largely word-of-mouth, hush-hush, and if you're not within that particular circle of immigrants, you'll never know if they exist, or where they're located.

Just an intuitive guess, that's all!
