Better than most states. My wife and I are from different parts of the world, and we don't get the usual, "Did you meet because he was in the Navy/Airforce?" or "Those Asian girls sure know how to take care of their men" BS that we got back East.

There's a lot less bigotry in general. But, you'll still have to deal with the girl's family. My mother-in-law, for instance, is one of the most racist people I know. She's old and set in her ways. And there's no convincing her that racial stereotypes are a bunch of crapola.

So while the co-ed in question probably doesn't care (hey, she might be into that), you'll still have to deal with parents and siblings who might not be as progressive.
