Anyone know of a good TV repair shop for a DLP TV?

Thanks.

The repair cost will probably be more than what you paid for the TV.

I would also advice you to ditch it. I know someone who had a Mitsubishi DLP and it was notoriously troublesome. It kept blowing bulbs.

TV's are disposable now. You can get a new 42 inch for $250.

I haven't had any problems with it up until this occurrence. It's only a year old last month. My two kids I think were banging on the screen while I was doing some house work and now there are large black blob spots on the bottom. Other than those black spots it operates just fine. I really don't think I could buy the same tv or better for the same price of the tv repair, but I don't know till I find a shop to give a quote.

Check your warranty, find your receipt, & contacting the manufacturer would be best chance for a free repair. You will have to pay shipping to them. Don't mention the kids alleged (lawyer speak) modifications .

The tv only has a one year warranty and that expired last month, otherwise I would have done that. I found an authorized repair place for mitsubishi but they want $135 just to look at it. If I decide the repair is too much and to just get another tv, I will have just wasted $135 and I try my best not to waste money...

Funny thing is I left the house for a few hours and when I came back the black spots were considerably smaller, maybe this problem will solve itself over time. Anyways, thanks for the responses, if anyone comes across a decent repair shop, please post it.
