No, the state bird is the Crane...the Construction Crane.

And you'll probably have to add a little water every day. It is a desert out there.

There was another thread about bugs where we covered black widow spiders. We have plenty of them around here. But Las Vegas is famous for having very few bugs compared to other arts of the country, especially the south. If there were no insects at all that would mean that nothing could live here. I saw really neat spider today on my wife's car. It was pure white all over. I've never seen one of those before.

i hope we all understand that i'm very pleased to have the large black widow population. my personal bug problem is not having an easy to find large supply of bugs to fotograf on my fingertip. gonna take some adjustment time for me and the widows.

yes, it's wonderful that they keep the roach population down. some.

I've seen them in a few restaurants, usually in old buildings. I even had one in my food once at Hilda's in NLV. I found it about halfway through the meal and she still expected me to pay for the food.
This is absolute fiction. My Mother Hilda just passed away. I am a food & beverage consultant and professional. Hilda never scored one negative point from the health department in 50 years of business in las vegas. I worked side by side with her for years. However, there were a few cheap people who used to bring their own bugs and objects in to plant for the chance at a free meal. This is truly amazing, Mom retired over 10 years ago...hmmmm? If there really was a problem, she would have comped the meal immediatley. Mom knew alot about food and people. Mom never refused a meal to the needy. All they had to do was ask.

Hilda's youngest son.
