If anyone in this thread is seriously hiring cleaning individuals that are not licensed, bonded and insured you are assuming a lot of liability.
Here is a relevant article from California that exposes some consequences.
Here (http://www.eastlongmeadow.org/Building/beware.htm - broken link)is another article explaining that most Homeowner's insurance has excluded unlicensed contractors from your policy.
If you do hire one of these individuals be prepared to lawyer up if they get injured while on your property.
