Perhaps they don't use a "company." Lots of illegals in LV will work for cash.

And lots of "legals" will, too. A person's citizenship status really isn't relevant with this topic.

A non-citizen will work for less. The topic is getting the cleaning done. It is relevant.

You're generalizing.

U.S. citizens are having a tough time, too, and I know people - U.S. citizens - in the cleaning business who have cut their rates because there aren't as many customers.

Yes, the topic is getting the cleaning done. It is not the person's citizenship.

If anyone in this thread is seriously hiring cleaning individuals that are not licensed, bonded and insured you are assuming a lot of liability. Here is a relevant article from California that exposes some consequences.

Here (http://www.eastlongmeadow.org/Building/beware.htm - broken link)is another article explaining that most Homeowner's insurance has excluded unlicensed contractors from your policy.

If you do hire one of these individuals be prepared to lawyer up if they get injured while on your property.

They have to prove that you hired them and where on your property. Not a easy feat with just a statement.
