I've read on a few threads some deals at certain locations within the city for locals only (eg diso****s on casino buffets).... let's use this thread to list some of the very good deals/discounts that locals can get both on and off the strip.

If you can also indicate if your deal/discount is for a limited time or permanent at the start of the post... that would also be helpful.

eg:

Permanent Discount - Discount Tickets
-------------------------------------
Details

or

Limited Time - Exp XX-XX-XXXX - Discount Buffet
------------------------------------------------
Details

oops...looks like you transposed the "o" and the "c" in discounts. Better change that to disopussies.

If you haven't yet, go to all the casino's and sign up for their club cards. Each one gives you something different. Some are scammy, but most are legitimate. You can get free slot play, free t-shirts, free mugs, or cards, key chains, and other things. It all depends on the place. Also, a few things from today and the last few days, my experience below.

Spent time today down on the Strip and around that area.
Went to Hooters. Signed up for their club card. They boast that they give all new slot players $100 in free slot play. So it's all a happy time until they tell you that you can only do it one section, the section of $5 machines with max bet. Gone in 1 1/2 minutes. With of course nothing to show for it. Easy come, easy go.
I will probably never go there again.
It reminds me of that one casino down on Fremont street. Used to be Sassy sallys, and I think it's something to do with Mermaids now. They have the same type of deal or similar and the free play is gone in a few seconds. Because they have machines set up that will not pay out and that's all you get. So they never lose anything.
--
on the other hand, went to the Wild Wild West casino and even though it's small, it's a good little place. It kind of reminds me of the old Silver City casino from years ago. Wild West gives everyone $3 in free slot play and a deck of cards. They are also very nice and I will go there again. I also won while there, so that was a bonus. I never knew that place was there. A good find.
--
Finally went to Tuscany. Always saw the commercials but wasn't sure where it was at. It's a pretty good sized place, plenty of machines and gaming action. I did ok there, and will go again. They give you $5 in free slot play to sign up and a free key chain.(in the gift shop) The key chain is good enough to actually use.
--
From there, went to Ellis Island, and signed up for their card. They give you $10 in free slot play, but the catch is, you have to come back the next day after 4pm to get it. Or it is also good for one year. So will be going back again tomorrow after 4pm, and then onto Bills Gambling hall which seems to be right across the street from there or a little way down. Always wondered where that was. It seems to be the old Barbary Coast. I still have mugs from that old casino.

Mandalay bay= nothing but a card.
Hard rock hotel=nothing but a card.
South Point=nothing but a card.
The three above all say we had cards with them before, so that is why all they gave us today was the players club card. Even though I do not remember having cards with them before.

Seems the bigger the casino, the less chance you get anything...except for...
The Venetian. The best so far. Sign up for a new card if you have never been there yet and they give you $20 in free slot play. The machines are pretty good too.
--
Going to more tomorrow, so will report on anything good afterwards. Hitting north las vegas, downtown, and back to Ellis Island and Bills gambling hall before heading home.

Club Fortune Casino has a great coupon in the Las Vegas Weekly (if you don't mind the drive way out to Henderson). I used it yesterday.

Go all the way down Boulder highway (heading south) and make a left on Horizon/Racetrack Rd. With the coupon, you get $10 in immediate free slot play, a deck of cards and a $5 drink coupon at the bar. Added bonus: they have $1 craps and $2 blackjack. It's a small, semi-smoky, "local" kind of place, but clean and has a very friendly staff.

I use them to practice my bellystripping techique while watching reruns of the Sopranos and drinking beer.

Mandalay Bay= MGM
Hard Rock ?
South Point= South Coast

I went to TI a month ago as they were having a promotion for new sign ups. They already had our names & addresses on file. Sold the MGM client list with the hotel.

Your Nevada's drivers license is a valuable tool for discounts. Lots of places offer discounts to locals with ID and you should get in the habit of asking if there is a discount for Nevada residents wherever you patronize here in town

Buffets, shows, attractions, special offers to locals, etc.

Mystere recently had a special offer of half off for tickets for the show, Golden Nugget had a special for staycations for locals and the Rio Carnival World buffet had a special for locals recently as well.
