Buffets, shows, attractions, special offers to locals, etc.

Mystere recently had a special offer of half off for tickets for the show, Golden Nugget had a special for staycations for locals and the Rio Carnival World buffet had a special for locals recently as well.
Good point. One of my favorite discounts that you get by showing a Nevada ID is for the art gallery at Bellagio. The discount is in effect only from 5-7 p.m. Wednesdays, but at $8 for Nevada residents it's one of the best deals in town.

Today went to many places I will NEVER go again.
Silver Nugget..so so. Jerrys nugget, sucky dive. But a big dive.

Downtown: Golden Nugget, won a little, Binions, could never find that hotel desk. Went around at least 20 times. Tied a pink string around the front door and left. Went to The Four Queens. I think I won something in there. But after awhile down there, they all look the same and it becomes one big casino and you forget where you are.

The Fremont. Each place offered either a deck of cards, some chips(don't eat them) and lots of 2 for 1 offers. The Fitzgerald also gave out cards and free chips. Touched that blarney stone for luck after using the hand sanitizer first. Used a 2 for 1 coupon for a veggie burger in the grill upstairs. for just $7.50 you get a nice sized burger, plus your choice of side dish, and we picked curly fries. They changed the restaurant since we'd last been there. Nicer.

A place I had always wanted to see out of sheer curiosity was the El Cortez. Finally went and will never ever ever go back. It smells like million year old cheap perfume combined with thousand year old cheap air freshener on a billion year old mummy. Yucko! I would rather it would have reeked of stale smoke/pee/farts, because at least you almost get used to it while inside. I know, gross! *barf*

Never made it to the Strip this time and will probably re-try that again on thursday or next week. I definitely need a day to rest my weary legs. Walked 4 hours total on monday. And today 5 hours, 51 minutes. Getting too old for these long walks like that!

I thought I saw dynimagelv strolling down Fremont street. But that could just have been a vision because I was so tired by then. I know I saw Elvis, Zorro and Austin Powers though.

Pinkish person......you couldn't find the Binions Front desk cause it is tucked way back on the MINT side of the property and is closed right now because we've closed the HOTEL portion of Binions.

SO YOU are the one that won at the Queens huh?

We try not yo have more then one winner a day.

The El C is truly a view into the past of Las Vegas..

You doing a stay-cation Pinkie...or you got relatives in town?

Sounds like me when I have "favorite" relatives in town, on the go all day on the Strip, off the Strip and everyplace in between, lol.

It's exhausting, I don't how the tourists do it in their typical 3 day/4 night stays

Last month I went to dinner at Sushi Samba in the Venetian/Palazzo and they gave a discount, I think it was 5 or 10% off. Didn't even ask for it, they just asked what hotel I was staying at and I said I wasn't, that I lived in Henderson. They even threw in free dessert, which was a great chocolate cream thing.

(BTW, the food there is great. Try items cooked on the Japanese wood grill in addition to the sushi.)

No, I won at the Golden Nugget. On a slot of all things. Could not find nickel keno anywhere in there.

No relatives in town, no stay-cation. Just doing a test of sorts. Going to all the casinos in the entire valley, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Pahrump and any other place just to see what we can get for signing up for their card. At the end of it, will count the cards, and the "loot" (free decks of cards, etc) will know where to NOT go back to and will keep a list of the good places. So far my favorite is Wild Wild West. Small, but the machines pay out. I don't need a fancy place, just pay me and I am fine.

Great work, Pink, thanks for keeping us updated. Do you ever go to the shows? I see about 40 a year free through Houseseats.com & now am wondering about a different service called something like Seatfiller?

I forgot to add that in my test I am using absolutely NONE of my own money. When we went to eat at Fitzgeralds, we used some of the winnings.

I will check out the Houseseats.com and also Seatfiller. Sounds good. Shows for free are good. Are there any hidden fee's for the free seats?

No hidden fees from Houseseats but the membership is $89 for a year to get 2 free tickets for each show. Most shows appear online a day or 2 before the show & the most popular shows go fast. Loads of smaller & newer shows are listed everyday, lots of magic, bands, comedy & impersonators. Of the top shows I've seen Bette Midler, Barry Manilow, Le Reve, Blue Man. Before joining you won't be able to see the shows offered, you must take a leap of faith & pay the membership. Sceptic that I am, I did the 3 month membership to start, then after my first couple shows upgraded my membership. Oh yeah, I get free haircuts, & they sometimes offer massages, manicures, fitness classes, golf & a few other activities. If any of you are interested in joining I'd apprciate it if you'd use my email address as a referral-after maybe 6 referrals I'd get a free dinner for 2 somewhere. If you need to hear more shows I've seen I'll go into more detail. Pink, I'll send my emial address to you now.
