I usually go to Costco for Roasts and Tri Tips. Albertsons , Vons and Smiths usually have a good selection too. I would stay away from Walmart Super Center and Food 4 less though. Just my opinion.

Ditto to Costco and Larry's Meats. Both have good meat. You'll also find good meat in some of the Mexican Supermercados around town too. The only place I know for sure you don't want to buy meat is Wal-Mart.

Two of the best butchers in town are

Village Meat and Wine

and

The Butcher Block

You can get game meats, Australian, American and A5 Japanese Kobe (at butcher block), free-range hormone free chicken and poultry.

The Greg Norman brand Australian Kobe Tri Tip at Village Meat and Wine is top notch. They recently had it on sale for just under 9 dollars a pound.

Sams Club, Costco and Larry's Great Western Meats are all good too.

Any of these places sell pork from heritage breeds, like Berkshires or Duroc?

Sunflower has great deals on high quality antibiotic and hormone free meats. Right now they even have top sirloin on sale for $2.99 a pound.
