You were getting passed at 111? Sorry but I think your speedometer wasn't working. I have been on that road countless times and I have never seen anyone going close to 111 except for a couple of Japanese motorcylces. And wouldn't you know it, they were pulled over about 10 miles ahead.

I was going 95 up the Tonopah Highway one time, headed for Reno, when a Nye County cop passed me like I was standing still. I called him on the CB (dating this story) and he said he didn't even see me. It's a two lane road too. I got up the road a few miles and he was parked on the shoulder shooting the sh** with some guy.

I've never done it, but I know a lot of people who can drive to Baker in under an hour. It's 99 miles. My former boss used to drive to Beatty in an hour in his Porsche. That's 116 miles.

I do remember on one of our trips to San Diego..we were breaking in the new SUV (just got it a few days before)...we're heading towards Baker, doing a nice, middle of the night run in the left lane...passing the slowpokes and trucks in the right lane...shooting the breeze with the Mr. and our friends who were coming with us...

I was driving you see, and not paying attention to my speed. It was so smooth and the vehicle handled so well and all.

I looked down at my speedometer...I was doing 100 MPH and it didn't even feel like it. I've never driven in my life, faster than 65 mph!!!

I was lucky I didn't get caught. Now I just try to stay in the slowpoke lane and set the cruise control to the speed limit just to be safe and ticket free.

I never go more then 70 mph in my car, unless the speed limit is higher. My car drinks too much gas at any speed above 70

I always used to be able to drive from Orlando to Orange Park (south of Jacksonville) to my uncle's house in 2 hours flat and it was an even 150 miles

I-10 in western Texas from Kerr County to El Paso County, the speed limit is 80 mph, and doing that speed, with the air going, and going up and down continuous mountains dropped my car's MPG to about 16 And after going that fast for so long, anything less then that, I felt like I was crawling

As for driving in Vegas, I always try to do the speed limit (I've heard about what ass holes Metro can be) even though it pisses other drivers off to NO END, especially on 95 and Summerlin Parkway, Id rather NOT get a ticket

They SERIOUSLY need to raise the speed limit above 30 MPH on Maryland Parkway though, that was ridiculously slow

I don't know about areas of the country, but here in town there ARE a few streets where the speed limit is too low, I agree with you completely.

As far as Summerlin Parkway goes...I believe the speed limit is whatever you want, however fast you can drive miles per hour.

I've seen cars literally...zoom past me while I'm doing 65, it's no wonder that when a big accident happens there...it's a deadly one.

Be careful on there Davie...and on I-15 heading South from the Spaghetti Bowl to past Russell, lots of speeders and reckless driving in that area as well.
