I think if I were 23 I would rather live closer to Mesilla. I think that if you don't need a yard Villa Esperanza would be a really nice place to live. Also there might be some sort of hang out, bar, club coming back into where Gadsen Purchase was (which is walking distance).

I know that building has had a facelift recently, but I don't think there's a tenant yet for the restaurant or the retail space. Here's hoping.
The St Clair Bistro restaurant and wine bar is close by and the chow is good there, but not much of a regular clientele at the wine bar. Speaking of wine bars...Vintage, just off the Mesilla Plaza, is a great spot (if you like wine) and draws wide variety of ages and types of people. One of my favorite spots.

El Patio, Palacios ... those bars are all right there, haha. Palacios I wouldn't go to.

I have no problems with going to Palacios at all. Never have had.
