I'm interested the video production certificate degrees at Pellissippi State, but I don't really know anything about the school or the Knoxville area. Is anyone familiar with those programs? Any comments or advice you wouldn't mind sharing?

I toured Pellissippi with my niece last summer and was really impressed. The school had a TV production studio, art studio, and many academics. As a Carson-Newman grad, I was impressed that Pellissippi had many things that I would not expect at a 2 year school--a touring chorus, semester classes offered in foreign countries. I also learned that students who complete a two-year program there are automatically accepted into UT.

Like any college, what you think of it will depend on your major and your experience. Definitely the best price in Knoxville. Also, it has several campuses and small classes. I have taken classes at more than one college/university and I found the school odd, but I am only saying that was my experience, not any one else.

Research your options and trust your instincts.

I think Pellissippi is a great school. I was an adjunct there for a semester and having gone to UT knoxville for grad school, I thought that they did a fine job with curriculum and guidance of their students.
