Greetings people of the internet,

I recently was just offered a job in the Kansas City area and will be relocating from Tampa, FL at the beginning of June. I really would like to live in the downtown area because that is where my work will be located. After some research I am leaning towards the Garment, River Market, Library district areas of the city. Can anyone living in the city vouch for these areas being safe and good locations to live in? One building I am really interested in is the Admiral Properties Loft Building, that is located directly behind the U.S. courthouse. Is Admiral Boulevard a safe location to be? On google it seems to be a little deserted behind the courthouse, but that is fine as long as it is a good area. Any opinions on the downtown area will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for the responses.

There are relatively more homeless in the Courthouse area and there are not many amenities within several blocks. Might be doable but I'd look in the other districts mentioned first.

Here's a guide of downtown lofts...

Downtown apts are about 95% occupied so might also check Midtown to Plaza as well, which are doable too with bus service to downtown...

It isn't the most interesting part of downtown to live, but it wouldn't be horribly unsafe, either.

I'll agree with the others and say that the Admiral Properties Loft Building is in kind of an odd corner of Downtown that would not be my first choice (though I wouldn't rule it out completely). Its near an area where a large development plan (the East Village) has kind of fizzled out and left the area in limbo.
