It is the internet. People will flame just about anything they might squint their eyes at and then will try to make it about some great forum conspiracy against people like them. Same old, same old. Let them post their useless off topic comments and don't reply. Don't ever give them something to reply to if you want to avoid getting into these downward spirals.

No one threw out flame bait. Opinions were expressed that the urban-centric progressive left has zero tolerance for.

Samantha very correctly identified the double standard that has long been in place in this forum in her last couple of posts.

^Wrong, the poster who complained about urban housing was trolling -- they had nothing to offer to the thread except for something off-topic. Thus it's totally against the TOS.

Well instead of filtering out the flame bate, grid should just create another thread with same pics and specify it's for those who would like to discuss urban KC housing options.

This thread has been spoiled by outsiders who have nothing to contribute.

What took you so long?

They offered their perfectly understandable opinion on the topic....which is trolling only in the minds of those who don't tolerate any but theirs.

The interesting contributors all seem to have moved on, so I have no idea why I allowed myself to get sucked back in here today. I assure you it won't happen again as long as the KC forum resembles the sad state it is currently in.

Good day.

You know what, nevermind. The housing stock in urban KC has history and is different in a way that I like. To say the unbashed sarcasm of that first reply was a simple comment must be a joke in itself. It was meant to be inflammatory or a knee jerk reaction to something not understood.

I take it you won't actually stay away and you will let this woefully unbalanced forum suck you back in. The crybabies on this forum are half the fun and watching two sides whine at each other all day is one of my daily escapes. Thanks!

Too true... I've seen exactly this, in every setting in which I've lived. Lots of rigid people out there with limited capacities for appreciation of variety.
