I feel like I'm walking into a trick question here, but it looks to me to be the old city airport on RD Mize along the bottom and the old Selsa Rd. running along the eastern edge and northern edge. If this is so, then that is Horseshoe lake in the lower portion of the picture. What I'm a little befuddled by is what appears to be a body of water along the northern portion of the photo. But I do have trouble making out details on these old B/W aerial photos.
Also Mrs. A's would be visible along the north side of RD Mize.

No trick, just a treat! Treat yourself to an order of Hi-Boy's onion rings on account'a you are mostly correct. Selsa Road is barely visible going south from R.D. Mize in the lower left. The road along the eastern and northern edges is Necessary Road. I think that is just a field along the north edge. Mrs. A's would be under the "16".

I caught my error earlier this morning as I zipped down the Parkway. I had a memory malfunction.

Trot on over to Arthur Treacher's and treat yourself to some fish 'n' chips! This is indeed Farview North, with Atherton Road on the west, Kentucky on the north, and US 24 diagonally at the lower right.

This summer there was a reunion for folks who grew up in this neighborhood. They held it at the Twin Drive-In (in the daytime) with each aisle marked as a different street in the neighborhood so that the participants could park on their "street".

It seems the 70's were a bad time for Independence... particularly the square.. and just a time of a lot of changes in the area.

Indeed! The 1970s brought massively destructive "improvements" to the Square. It is amazing that it recovered and is once again viable.
