Yes, by The Golden Year 1968 it was Texas Tom's at 3421 Hi Boy Burgers was 3424 and had the prefix UN in its number, which I presume stood for UNION?

Another TT was at 1415 W 23rd, which places it just west of Crysler Stadium

The 23rd location was originally Santa Fe Drive In. Over the years, its names have included Louisa's (GREAT meatball sandwiches!), and now its a Subway.

Yes, they bake their rolls in-store, but I still consider Subway a comedown from a really good local sub shop, which it sounds like Louisa's was.

ISTR that many Texas Tom'e locations began their lives as Arby's. They even kept the huge cowboy-hat neon signs but changed the lettering on them.

Did anyone bother to check out the link I posted? =-/
They are going to be putting in a walking trail AND biking trail that runs through the square. Construction is currently scheduled to start second part of this year!

Both Subway and Arby's are prominently featured in The Food That Built America series

Just saw last nite that The History Channel will have a similar series on non-food businesses. I caught the ad near the end but it looked like Costco was featured. Starts around July 23 so check your TV Guides
