Working in the USA sucks so bad. It will be really hard for me to move back there. Here I am, stacking up tons of cash for about 18 hours of work per week

The USA is a cool place. But working there and trying to make ends meet is a nightmare.

Hi Gypsy- Just curious how you treated the Interviewer. I get the impression from your Post that you may have rolled your eyes or even gotten angry at this person. I do not mean to judge and I am not in your shoes, so cannot really truly understand your position.

All I am saying is that if you kept it positive.... things may have worked out (maybe down the road even if not right away). Maybe a "We really like/ want you so we can be flexible on the schedule".
Probably not what you want to hear right now.... but food for thought.

Frankly, I feel (again) it was not my place to be placid and just say 'whatever you say, ma'am.'

I was upfront about 'what I could do' but they had other ideas (what they needed).

It's no worse than when someone can't meet your salary requirements. Sometimes we JUST CAN'T do the jobs we interview for due to circumstances.

Eye rolling, grimacing, no..I just waited for them to say good bye and I left.

Inflexible.....I can't...I want...I have to have it this way.
Flexible.....I wonder if the husband can get up ONE day and get the kid off to school....I wonder if the kid can be dropped of at the day care ONE day a week, until I'm done.
Would this have worked? I dunno, but giving some thought to how it might work would have occured to many people.

The whole point was I was mislead by the people doing the hiring. At the interview when they began talking about 'the change in the hours' the person doing the job began to do the 'hard sell' why I SHOULD want to do the new hours.

I was polite and explained I can't do it. I have worked before w/my family commitments and know the hours I can and cannot do. This worked very well in the past and I am looking to keep the times the same or around the same.

I simply do not understand WHAT is wrong with 'knowing what I can do' and being honest. Employers should do the same.
If
I live my family situation and know what works here. I am not asking people to agree with how I do things. Nor should I have to justify WHY I cannot do certain hours.

Have you tried earning some extra money doing online surveys or afilliate maketing, or other money making ways, I can point you in the right direction if you wish.

Yeah, it is frustrating when things like that happen, when you are trying so hard to find a job, only to not be able to. I don't know what the heck to say anymore, honestly. I can only shake my head and wonder what has happened to this country. I wish I could help out, but I just don't know what else to say
