I am looking for suggestions on a good seafood resturaunt. I am not talking about a red lobster or anything. I am looking for a good local place that serves good fresh seafood. Nothing fancy. Also looking for them to be in the southside area near atlantic and kernan or around Atlantic, neptune, jax beach areas.

Erm.. Joe's is as frozen as Red Lobster. Tasty at times, but nowhere near fresh.

so your looking for a non-chain, reasonabely priced fresh seafood restuarnts on the Southside or the Beqches?

Hard to find. There are many chain restaurants there and many pricey restuarants.

I'd recommend Mayport. The Sand Dollar Restuarant & Marina on Heckshire Drive is probably exactly what your looking for.

Yea....I was trying to think of the name of that place. It's just across the boy from Sand Dollar. You can take the ferry one side to the other.

Yep, Singleton's! It is right next to the Ferry in Mayport. Food is good and place would remind you of a regular (not fancy) seafood restaurant by the water! Actually have the fishing boats that get Singleton's fish, docked right behind the restaurant! We have ate there a few times. Took family there when they came to visit us.......they liked it!

We hit it up everytime we come down. Blackened mahi sandwitch will run ya about $6 and it is huge. I am a big eater so take my word on it.
